PRICING AND PROCESS

Clear pricing starts with the writing itself.

Every edit depends on the word count, document type, deadline, and how much attention the writing needs. Send a short sample first. I will recommend the level of editing that fits the work before you decide to book.

If a lighter edit is enough, I will say so.

QUOTE

What affects the quote:

A quote should not be guessed from a package name alone. It should be based on the text itself.

Word count:

Longer documents take more time to read, edit, and review.

Editing level:

Proofreading, copyediting, and line editing require different levels of attention.

Condition of the text:

A clean draft may only need a final pass. A rougher draft may need closer sentence-level work.

Deadline:

Short deadlines may require a rush fee if they require rearranging the schedule.

Document type:

A novel chapter, blog post, translated document, essay, or full manuscript may need different handling.

Deliverables:

Tracked changes, comments, clean copy, and follow-up questions affect the scope.

OFFERS

Three ways to begin.

Choose the path that fits the stage and size of the work.

EXAMPLES

How pricing can be calculated:

These examples show how a quote may be structured. Final pricing is confirmed after the sample and project details are reviewed.

Proofreading:

10,000 words × $0.015 = $150

Copyediting:

20,000 words × $0.022 = $440

Line Editing:

50,000 words × $0.030 = $1,500

Full Manuscript Proofreading:

60,000 words × $0.015 = $900

Full Manuscript Copyediting:

60,000 words × $0.022 = $1,320

2,000-word Sample Edit:

$35

If the sample leads to a larger project, the sample fee can be credited toward the full edit.

SAMPLE EDIT

The 2,000-word sample.

The sample edit is there so you can see the work before committing to a larger project. It also helps me understand what level of editing the writing actually needs.

  • Send up to 2,000 words.
  • I review the text and recommend the right editing level.
  • You see the kind of corrections and comments I provide.
  • If the approach works for you, we can move forward.
  • If it does not, there is no pressure to continue.

The sample may be limited during busy periods.

2,000-word sample edit: $35

If you book a larger project, the sample fee can be credited toward the full edit.

PAYMENT AND SCOPE

Payment, contract, and scope:

Payment details are confirmed before the project begins. Smaller projects may require full payment before editing starts. For longer projects, payment can be split so the process feels fair on both sides.

For longer projects, 50% is due before editing begins and 50% is due before the final edited file is delivered.

Before a larger project begins, the scope should be clear. You should know what kind of edit you are receiving, what is included, what the timeline is, and how payment works.

A simple written agreement can include the document type, word count, editing level, deliverables, timeline, fee, payment schedule, confidentiality, follow-up terms, and AI policy.

A written agreement protects both the writer and the editor.

PROJECT DETAILS

A fair quote should match the work.

Pricing depends on word count, editing level, deadline, and the condition of the text. Send the details you have, and I will give you a clear scope before anything begins.

No random package guessing. The quote should reflect what your manuscript actually needs.
